TKC is a Buddhist teaching and meditation center located in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Our resident teacher is a fully-qualified geshe from Sera Jey Monastery in India. Because of his intensive educational experience and subsequent decades of practice in the Mahayana tradition, the teachings that Geshe Kyab gives are accurate, dependable, heart-felt, and potentially life-changing.
TKC is affiliated with the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition, an international, non-profit organization based in Portland, Oregon. The FPMT has been teaching Buddhism to westerners since its founding in 1975 by Lama Thubten Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche.
We follow the traditions of the Gelug order, which is under the patronage of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

Elaine Blumenkranz, whose belief in the core tenets of Buddhism and its teachings, brought her to the Tubten Kunga Center in Deerfield Beach more than a decade ago. Elaine not only attended teachings but also became the membership director and de facto “mother” to the Geshe, the monk who is the Center’s spiritual leader. Some of the most profoundly moving cards, letters, emails and calls received by January, one of Elaine’s two daughters, in these last months, were from Center members extolling Elaine’s spirit and grace and their gratitude for her presence in their lives.
Elaine’s full bio can be read at:
Medicine Buddha Pujas continue for Elaine each Tuesday evening from 7:00pm to 8:00 pm.
